This project is a 3D sculptural work that imagines a future in which human activity of environmental exploitation and technological misuse that has pushed the Earth beyond its ability to sustain life. Rather than depicting a realistic environment, the sculpture uses surrealism to visualize both “melting” and “mutation” process, representing ecosystems dissolving and transforming under prolonged damage. The work focuses on nature as it collapses under human impact, showing plants, skeletal forms, and etc losing stability. Through this piece, I examine both environmental destruction, and the human tendency to ignore gradual ecological decline, even as it leads toward irreversible consequences.
This work was originally developed as part of a collaborative project with two other classmates, consisting of three sculptural pieces. This submission represents the nature-focused piece that I individually created; the other two works explored urban and desert environments.
